Durr Estates set to re-ignite

Durr Estates, one of the oldest and most respected brands in the Cape Real Estate industry, is set to emerge from the recent economic recession as a powerhouse in the regional and national estate agency market.

The forty year old company has been recapitalized by property entrepreneurs Julian and Paul Reynolds, who together with a new management team, are determined to revitalize the brand, expand the business and gain market share.

From humble beginnings in September 1969, Durr Estates very soon emerged as one of the leading Estate Agencies in the Cape Peninsula. With a strong heritage in the Cape property market, the brand has grown over the years into a large network of offices covering the Peninsula, Boland, Overberg, Southern and Eastern Cape.

According to new CEO, Julian Reynolds - who has a successful background in residential property development - with energetic new management, the company will relentlessly pursue growth and excellence while staying true to its core values of integrity, professionalism, hard work and a feeling of family amongst the stakeholders.

"Together with the existing stakeholders in Durr Holdings, there is the perfect blend of youth and experience. The carefully crafted vision of this new management team is set to focus on increasing market share in traditional areas in the Western Cape, and then growing the footprint on a national level."

He says the head office will now take a hands-on approach by investing and assisting with the management of new branches. "Based on industry research it was determined that centrally controlled branches are more focused, efficient and successful."

Reynolds says the "new" Durr Estates will be a great environment for dynamic estates agents to shine. "We will be placing a lot of emphasis on training and providing agents with the appropriate sales tools. We believe that with signs of the market stabilizing, Durr Estates is well positioned to provide determined agents with the best possible chance of success."
